AgroForestry Products
We practice a type of agriculture called "Agroforestry". This basically means farming under the canopy of a woodlot or forest. Not only do we pasture some of our animals under the trees of our forest, but we harvest various crops also.
Maple Syrup
We produce maple syrup and other maple products for use on our restaurant table, by you our customers. The maple syrup we boil is a "table grade", it is thick and dark and very flavorful. Our maple season runs from ST. Valentines Day (14 FEB) through St Patricks Day (17 MAR). During this period we run the sugar shed 24 hours a day. Public tours are held each Saturady and Sunday. Private tours which include a very close up and hands on maple experiance may be reserved. During our "Maple Month" a special menu is available in the restaurant that features many selections either made with maple or meant to be coved in maple syrup!!High Grade Smoking Woods and Planks for Grilling
During the management of our forest we "weed out" trees for various reasons. We select the best and produce chunks of smoking wood and grilling planks for your enjoyment! Selection and quantities vary. Please call ahead for availablity.
Custom Firewood
Well seasoned and split firewood is available for your purchase. There are a lot of firewood retailers out there. The difference is:
We have a "retail location".
You can select your firewood, so you are NOT SURPRISED
You take the firewood with you or arrange for us to deliver it.
We also provide stacking services on an hourly basis

Shitake Mushrooms
In our forest we grow certified shitake mushrooms for our restaurant and retail sales. Currently we use prime maple logs to produce a mushroom that is slightly sweet Harvest occurs in the spring when the temperature hovers around 50-70 degrees. Call for a tour and availablity.Forest garden
We have a wonderful garden in the forest. We grow shade tolerant vegetables that are annuals and every-bearing. This is an experimental garden that is no-till and made from compost "grown" in our barns and sheds. Stop by for a visit and informal talk about this form of "Silvaculture" and forest farming.
compost and worm farm
Well it all started with a pile of composted cleanings from the main barn. We added a lot more and let it winter over and started to turn it in the spring. This is when we noticed that it was full of earth worms. Each year the pile grows and fills up with earth worms. I have been told it is magic earth! Each year we have "repeat" customers come and fill their pales with our black stuff that wiggles with worms. We have a price list for our compost and it is based on a leveled off John Deer loader bucket.
